4th July Weekend - 2010
Written by admin on July 9, 2010 – 11:10 pm -This past 4th of July weekend was a mix of sadness and joy. On Saturday, we drove down to LA to the hospital (ICU) to see a close friend of my parents whom I was also very close with. She had had cancer and was fighting it for the past year. We knew the family since I was growing up. Sadly, she passed a few days later that following week. RIP Na Ple. We all miss you.
Here’s us with the family on Saturday and Sunday morning:
.
For the 4th on Sunday, we got to spend some time with my parents and we all drove down to San Diego Bay to see the fireworks there. We bought some dinner to-go at a fish house nearby and had picnic on the lawn right on the water front. It wasn’t as crowded as we had thought and it was a pretty cool way to see the fireworks very closeup.
.
.
We left on Monday and stopped by Yukiko’s and Rodney’s place in Pasadena, CA. Thanks for lunch guys! Yukiko, great kalbi!

Alex’s 1st Birthday
Written by admin on June 21, 2010 – 11:58 pm -Around mid-June my parents came up to celebrate Alex’s 1st birthday with all of us. A week before Alex’s bday weekend, we met up with Steve and Carol for some Thai dinner.
.
The following evening, we met with my parents and went out to Pesce, a seafood/Italian/tapas restaurant on Polk St. Lots of great, delicious plates and we tried plenty! No pics of the family but we do have some food pics though!
.
Happy 1st Birthday Alex! Too bad you won’t remember a thing!

Dungeness Crab Dinner
Written by admin on April 24, 2010 – 9:08 pm -Last weekend we met up with my brother, Carol, and baby Alex for some crab dinner on Saturday night. Earlier that day, Azusa and I went to check out the free zip lining set up at the Justin Herman Plaza at the Embarcadero. This event was sponsored by the Tourism of British Columbia, Canada to promote visitors there. Unfortunately, when we got to the zip line location we found out that the free passes were given out to the first 500 people and that they were out since 7am! Looks like we’ll have to go to Canada and try it out ourselves!

For our crab dinner, we went to PPQ Dungeness Island Vietnamese Cuisine in the Richmond District on Clement and 25th Ave. We ordered one peppercorn crab and one roasted crab and we loved it. Definitely no leftovers that evening.
