I Will Kill For This French Toast

Olea is a super small breakfast/brunch place that always has groups of people waiting outside. It is a few blocks from our place so we pass by it all the time and we’ve always wanted to try it. Finally, we know what all the waiting was about. The French Toast order was so good that I went up to the Chef to thank him. I have never done that before in my life. I am now on a quest to find an even better French Toast and I think it will be tough…

Slackers Unite!
Written by admin on July 15, 2010 – 7:05 am -After about a year of planning to get together, I finally met up with a friend of mine who now lives in the Bay area. Annie and I had been exchanging emails since we both found out that we live fairly close, well not quite close but close enough! For convenience, we went to a French restaurant in the neighborhood, Rue Saint Jacques. The restaurant was located at a great corner spot, but easily missed if you drove by in a hurry. We all had the 3 course dinner and though we had a nice time, the food wasn’t good enough to go back. Maybe we’ll try another restaurant with Annie and Jeff in another year!

A Freakin Good Pork Sandwich

A good friend of mine from college, Phebe, was in town so it was really nice to get to see her after all the years. We met at the Farmer’s Market at the Ferry Plaza for a quick lunch. Of course, the main attraction at the Farmer’s Market is the Roli Roti Gourmet Rotisserie as evidenced by the long line and so we all got in line. We had already tried their chicken which was absolutely amazing so we waited for the famous porchetta sandwiches. These pork sandwiches were the best/worst things you can have. So flavorful and crispy to perfection, yet oily and fatty to a quick heart attack. Just absolutely amazing :) Thanks Phebe and see you again soon!

Later that evening, we tried a place called “Fish and Farm“. I really wanted to like this place, voted best burger in 2009 by SF magazine 7×7. Their website is cool and they really do take some great mouth-watering pictures. We did order the burger and it was good but nothing special. I was dreaming about their fried chicken all day and when I tasted it, it was just regular. So sad.
