Day 1:

Nob Hill
Fisherman’s Wharf
Boat Tour to Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz

Azusa’s family came for a visit a few weeks ago from Japan.  We had a great time showing them around and we also got to do lots of new things.  Of course, we ate and ate, and visited many places.  The week went by really fast and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves here but in the end we were sad to see them leave.  These pictures should capture some memories:

After some crab and beer, we caught a small boat right as it was about to leave dock for a one hour tour.  That was some fun experience and we got to see the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and San Francisco in a different way.  And we saw some seals too!

One of the crewmen also offered to take our picture as we approached underneath the Golden Gate Bridge.

The boat ride was really fun and we got back at a good time for everyone to rest up from a long flight in.  Tomorrow, we cross the Golden Gate Bridge to Muirwoods National Park and spend some time in Sausalito, CA.

My ?? Birthday Dinner!

And….after coming back from the Marina from the Blue Angels performance, we headed out again to the Fisherman’s Wharf for some crab and seafood at a ’secret’ restaurant we found on Yelp.com.

Not so secret from the tourists anymore because there was an hour and a half waiting time for this place called Scoma’s.

Good location, in an alley away from the main street where it is not easily found.  Still, many must have heard about this place from the looks of it.  No reservations, but we were there and we had to try.

I ordered the Roasted Dungeness Crab dinner and Azusa had the Shellfish Saute Sec.  Big portions for us with some left overs.

Cool find, but we’ll probably try another place next time we’re up for some seafood.  Overall, a great night out for a huge birthday!!

Heading out to the Wharf.
